Retreat:
The whole motivation for our RETREAT is to give you (and us) time out to relax and really enjoy our craft. As Bridge Lodge is just outside of Otaki it means we can enjoy the convenience of town as well. Otaki has a number of factory shops including the Bendon Shop, Pumpkin Patch etc. Should you decide you would like a break please feel free to wander down town and enjoy some retail therapy. Likewise, take a walk, read a book or just have a sleep! Please yourself.
Feel free to work on any Papercraft you enjoy. This is not limited to scrapbooking, however, it will be dominated by scrap addicts! Card making, canvas art, altered media, anything goes.
Babies:
We are very relaxed and caring and welcome babes in arms. However, if your babe is mobile (ie: crawling, walking) this is your opportunity to take some very deserved time out and just bring yourself and get creative.
The rooms:
We sleep in a cabin. Each room has three single beds and one bunk bed. We do not use the bunk beds so maximum is three to a room. The rooms are heated.
Shower and toilets are under cover a short distance from the rooms.
The Hall:
We use a well lit, roomy hall. Heating will be by way of free standing gas heaters. It does cool down especially in the evenings so bringing a cuddly blanket to wrap up in is fun and cosy.
Food:
We have a lovely menu. All meals are provided with the cost. Any special requirements ie vegetarian etc please advise us ASAP. The dining room is separate to the hall so we can just get up and walk away from our creative mess and not feel guilty! What joy to just leave it and come back to it exactly how we left it :o)
What should I bring:
* Sleeping bag or preferred bedding (pillows and sheets are provided)
* Personal effects and bathroom requirements (towel, hand towel for bathroom, soap etc)
* Your own scrapbook supplies – album, photos and anything else you need to work on your album
* Equipment you are happy to add to the share table – rubber stamps, sizzix machines and dies etc. (Please ensure everything is named well).
* Maureen (our camp leader) is awesome and laid back so she is happy for us to bring a wine or two to have with our meals. We especially want to introduce a happy hour on Saturday night – for approx an hour before our tea. Bring your favourite drink and some nibbles to share for this time.
* Please bring some healthy/yummy food to share for morning and afternoon teas. Coffee and tea will be provided.
* Most importantly, you, your warm smile and sunny attitude.
